Welcome to #TechBikers!
On the Road to Innovation, for Good
21st – 23rd September 2012
Techbikers is a collaboration of the London tech startup community to help children in need by supporting Room to Read.
Between September 21st-23rd, 40 tech professionals – including start-ups, venture capitalists and executives – are cycling 200 miles from Paris to London to raise money for the charity.
Room to Read is a non-profit organization that was founded on the belief that world change begins with education from the youngest level. In the past 10 years, Room to Read has provided 6 million children with better access to education, established 1,592 schools and 13,170 libraries, published over 700 childrenʼs books in 27 local languages, and sponsored 13,160 girls throughout their secondary education.
TechBikers was born from Googleʼs Campus London, a workspace at the heart of East Londonʼs tech city. It is a collaboration amongst Eze Vidra, head of Google Campus, Benjamin Southworth, Deputy CEO at Tech City UK, and Gerry Newton, Campus London resident and Founder of the Cyclr.
Tech Bikers represents everything great about the tech community; by supporting Room to Read, we can make a positive difference in other communities, similar to ways our sponsors have made a difference to ours. We rely on the support of sponsors and donors to complete this challenge. If you want to be involved, please let us know and support us in our mission to make a real difference!
